Controls Engineer
Job Description: Design, quote and develop all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment and machinery. May be responsible for the installation and technical support of PLC based hardware and software. A bachelor’s degree is preferred in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or have Electrical Engineering experience, with a minimum of 0-5 years of controls experience, ideally in an engineer-to-order or complex manufacturing environment. Experience and efficiency in a 2D modeling CAD software package such as (AutoCad, SolidWorks, and DraftSight) is required and a working knowledge of a formal MRP/ERP system is preferable. Experience with UL508A guide lines is needed and Certification is preferred.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Quote/Design/Develop/Program controls systems utilizing any number of the following: (30%)

- Control panels
- Motors
- Limit/proximity switches
- Pushbuttons/foot switches/key pads
- HMI’s & PLC’s & VFD’s
- Accurately developing conceptual and detailed layouts and schematics for all controls. (20%)
- Developing specifications for all electrical components required on jobs. (15%)
- Follow the project through to completion, working with the assemblers and providing any knowledge based insight as needed. (5%)
- Accurately creating and maintaining Items, BOMs & Shop Packets in the ERP system. (5%)
- Providing timely and accurate technical support and application assistance for all internal and outside customers as well as conducting departmental training in product design and new technology. (15%)
- Departmental projects and internal support. (10%)
