Natural Gas Compression Control Panel
Challenge
One of our customer’s needed our help providing a new, updated control panel that operates their natural gas compression unit. The control panel will provide control to the engine RPM and the rate of compression while staying in the guidelines of EPA regulations.
Solution
OSCO Controls built a new panel to include a Redlion HMI to have more control of the pressure valves, rate of compression and better visibility to the alarm status. We added a new Allen-Bradley ControlLogix 1756-L71 PLC. The new PLC offers more capabilities with analog and digital I/O with larger memory.
Result
Our team knows how important it is to optimize natural gas compressor’s operation for safety and efficiencies. In designing the new control panel, our goal was to upgrade the panel with the most highly engineered components that will have a significant impact on productivity, performance, and control. The control system will help provide regularity to the compressor and engine to eliminate harmful emissions from the systems and decrease maintenance requirements and associated downtime.
